BNSF’s Marketing team serves as a primary contact for all BNSF customers, working to make the shipping experience as easy and seamless as possible. From onboarding new customers to handling rate and service requests to answering billing questions, the Marketing team is focused on building strong customer relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the shipping process. The team is organized into several critical business units to cater to diverse customer needs and industry demands: Agriculture and Energy, Consumer Products, and Industrial products, alongside specialized units for Customer Support, Forecasting, and Planning. Each of these units plays a role in tailoring our marketing strategies and services to meet the unique requirements of our wide-ranging customer base, ensuring a comprehensive and responsive approach to customer service and engagement.
This is a full-time position located in The Woodlands, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.
Travel is 30-40% Business travel
Key responsibilities may include:
Develop and implement sales strategies using current market information, competitive and economic conditions, corridor and/or lane analysis, and customer surveys.
Develop and implement plans to expand position in existing customer supply chain.
Develop and implement plans to identify and engage potential new customers.
Prospect for and develop new business opportunities, new customers, and develop solid business plans.
Manage and implement post-sale processes to ensure successful implementation and follow-up.
Create customer plans and account and pricing strategies, and develop total transportation packages including equipment, service and value-added services.
Respond to internal and external customer inquiries and resolve problems in a timely manner as they arise.
Determine fundamental customer service and business requirements and match to BNSF's capabilities/limitations.
Manage customer interface to maximize customer and market potential including revenue, contribution, volume, and market share.
Manage and implement post-sale processes to ensure implementation and follow-up.
This position will be the leader for coordinating the BNSF resources for customers across all internal support groups, including Equipment, Economic Development, Service Design, Marketing, Law, Collections, eBusiness, Leadership and others.

Basic Qualifications:
- Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status)
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in sales/marketing, rail operations, or a related industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- 7 years’ experience in sales, transportation, marketing, operations or logistics management
- Knowledge of BNSF’s operating capabilities and interline service processes and schedules
- Prior experience developing and delivering customer presentations using PC-based electronic mail, word-processing, spreadsheet, database, graphic software and eTool skills
- Prior examples of leadership
