BNSF is searching for currently enrolled and recent graduates interested in a paid summer internship or full-time entry-level Management Trainee (MT) position.
Summer Internship Program
The paid Summer Internship Program is an opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a full-time BNSF employee. As an intern at BNSF, you’ll be given real-life, impactful assignments that will put your skills and education into practice. The program is designed to identify students who will be hired by BNSF as full-time Management Trainees after they graduate.
Management Trainee (MT) Program
The Management Trainee Program develops leaders who will drive the future of our organization. It’s a paid, full-time program for recent graduates with less than three years of professional work experience. With hard work, the desire to learn, and the ability to develop productive working relationships, career opportunities will follow.
Upon arrival at BNSF, Management Trainees receive an overview of our railroad and our industry during an orientation at our Fort Worth, Texas headquarters. Once the one-week orientation is complete, corporate Management Trainees move into their assigned departments for on-the-job training in either a corporate or operations department. Corporate departments that regularly recruit Management Trainees include Accounting/Finance, Corporate Audit, Human Resources, Marketing, Sourcing, and Technology Services.
Operations Management Trainees – those in the Engineering, Mechanical and Transportation departments – following orientation, you will spend time at our Technical Training Center in Overland Park, Kan., learning the ins and outs of railroading and then continue on to their field assignment. Our training program will prepare you for an exciting and rewarding career at BNSF.
