The BNSF Police department is dedicated to ensuring the security and safety of the company's vast network of rail operations. This department employs comprehensive strategies and state-of-the-art technology to safeguard the transportation of goods, prevent theft, and mitigate risks associated with railway operations. By collaborating closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, the BNSF Police team plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of BNSF Railway's services.

This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX.  

Travel is minimal, up to 10%.   

Training for this position is at the corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.  

Relocation package may be provided for eligible candidate.  

Daily work is conducted in the safety of an indoor office environment.  

 

Key responsibilities may include:   

  • Analyze crime, security, and incident data to identify hotspots, repeat locations, emerging trends, offender patterns, and operational vulnerabilities. 

  • Prepare actionable intelligence products, including crime bulletins, trend summaries, maps, dashboards, link charts, and executive-level risk reports. 

  • Collect, validate, and reconcile information from approved internal systems and external law enforcement/security sources to improve data quality and analytical confidence. 

  • Support Special Agents, supervisors, and field leaders with analytical case support, lead development, event briefs, and documentation of findings. 

  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reporting that supports crime prevention, patrol deployment, grant justification, special operations, and measurable risk reduction.

Basic Qualifications:   

  • Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).  

  • High School diploma or GED. 

  • 3 years of experience in crime analysis, intelligence analysis, investigative support, security operations, emergency communications analysis, data analysis, or law enforcement support.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI or similar reporting tools, GIS/mapping tools, WebEOC and database/reporting systems. 

  • Ability to prepare clear written products, dashboards, maps, and executive summaries. 

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive law enforcement/security information. 

  • Ability to prioritize time-sensitive requests and work independently with limited supervision. 

  • Ability to receive and/or maintain access to required law enforcement, criminal justice, or security systems based on business need and policy requirements. 

  • Must be physically and psychologically fit, able to successfully pass any required company evaluations and pass an extensive background investigation. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Data Analytics, GIS, Homeland Security, Public Administration, or related field.  

  • Experience in railroad, transportation, supply chain, critical infrastructure, or multi-jurisdictional public safety environments. 

  • Crime analysis, intelligence analysis, GIS, Power BI/data visualization, or related analytical certifications.
