Salary Range: $87,700-$125,000
5+ years of experience: $87,700-$110,000
6+ years of experience: $101,900-$125,000
These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the role’s level, scope, and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Travel is minimal, but onsite support for in person training is required.
The Manager / Director of Talent Development will lead enterprise-wide leadership development strategies that strengthen BNSF’s leadership pipeline and align with business priorities. The talent management-leadership development team is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering our annual leadership training to all 4200+ BNSF exempt employees.
Key responsibilities may include:
Provide vision, leadership, and strategic planning for company-wide curriculum design and implementation of leadership development programs (including our flagship program: People Leader Training) that engages leaders, stretches their thinking, and positions them to drive our people performance and engagement.
Serve as internal consultant and subject-matter-expert on departmental learning initiatives (example-Safety Leadership) to ensure consistency of leadership message, provide instructional design expertise and collaborate on programming.
Analyze, interpret, and present organizational data (survey feedback, multi-rater feedback, assessment data) that provides rationale for the leadership program direction and to inform modifications to leadership development programming.
Source qualified, professional executive coaches to deliver leadership development programs.
Oversee Train-the-Trainer and provide ongoing evaluation and feedback to this team that will deliver leadership development programming.
Conduct benchmarking on leadership development emerging trends and apply to relevant programs.
Manage companywide tuition reimbursement program by ensuring compliance with guidelines, timely and accurate processing of requests, and tracking participants in the program by monitoring the budget.

Basic Qualifications:
- Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred for Manager Talent Development role. A bachelor’s degree or higher is required for the Director Talent Development role.
- The level of position is based on experience and can grow over time. To be considered for the Manager Talent Development role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources or related and relevant work experience. To be considered for the Director Talent Development role, you must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in Human Resources or related and relevant work.
- Prior experience in designing and delivering large scale leadership development programs is required.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership development skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems, Survey Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources or other business related discipline.
- Experience in large scale project management.
- Certifications in instructional design or leadership development (e.g., ATD, MBTI, StrengthsFinder).
- Vendor management experience.
