Dispatchers

Responsibilities

This team controls when trains can move and when maintenance on the rail network can be safely conducted. Dispatchers prioritize and plan train routes to ensure a timely, safe and damage-free delivery for customer’s freight. Dispatchers have an assigned territory that can range in size from twelve to over 1,000 miles. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a high-stress work environment. New Dispatchers will be provided with company paid on-the-job training.

Dispatchers work an eight-hour shift in an office environment. With train operations and maintenance occurring around the clock, these employees work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Dispatchers work at three locations across the system: San Bernardino, California; Fort Worth and Spring, Texas. Most are located in Fort Worth.
