Other skilled positions provide vital behind-the-scenes support to our railroad. We count on these groups to solve problems and manage day-to-day services needed to run the railroad.

Our Clerical team supports corporate departments such as Finance, Labor Relations or Technology Services, as well as operational functions at field locations, including an intermodal facility, terminal or yard. Clerks may serve in administrative capacities or work in Operations roles such as bridge operators, stockers or vehicle operators.

Other key positions are on the Intermodal team. Intermodal loads are containers or trailers that are transferred to rail from another mode of transportation, usually from a truck or ship. Our Intermodal employees work in hubs, operating cranes, directing crane movements using signals or transporting containers to and from the tracks using hostler trucks within the facility. Freight trains operate around the clock, as do the people in Intermodal. Employees work nights, weekends, holidays, and on call. Employees work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
